Aaron Braaten, President, BA, MA of Economics, NCSO, DipNebosh, API 1160 Pipeline Inspector

Aaron Braaten was appointed President of Xi Safety in 2014 and also serves as Xi’s subject matter expert in Drilling and Completions as well as Pipeline Right of Way Clearing matters pertaining to forestry requirements including Danger Tree Assessment.

Previously, he was an Economist at the Energy Resources Conservation Board (now the AER). Aaron has also worked for Moody’s, and has significant field experience as a Surveyor.

Aaron holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Alberta, is a National Construction Safety Officer and holds various certifications through the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) and the American Petroleum Insitute.

Kris Davenport, Business Development

Ms. Davenports’ experience includes corporate communications, business development, investor & public relations, marketing, project management and administration. Kris has worked on a diverse number of projects and clients from different industries, including the resource sector, bio-tech, high tech, new media, software and the safety training industry. She has been responsible for business development, investor relations, human resources, media coverage, press releases  and developing marketing collateral. During her career she has worked with public & private companies and has been involved in raising over $500 million through outside investors and government grants for clients and employers.

Pollyne M. Braaten, Office Manager

With a background of 18 years in the oil and gas placement industry, Pollyne brings a wealth of experience to the home office in ensuring our client’s needs are continuously exceeded.  From providing back office support for all payroll services she’s instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition of onboarding of workers is complete and matched to client satisfaction

Advisory Team

Mike Horner, P. Eng, MBA, BlueBayou Management Ltd.

Mr. Horner is a Graduate of UBC’s Mechanical Engineering Faculty and holds a MBA from Simon Fraser University. Mike has 30 plus years in the energy industry in addition to pipelines and power transmission projects he also has experience with refinery and sour gas plants. Mike’s roles and responsibilities have included management of operations in challenging physical and climactic environments. His experience includes US and domestic operations and project development in major greenfield and expansion projects. Mike has significant regulatory experience and in the creation of  project organization as well as executive leadership roles.

Mr. Horner external memberships includes being President of the Construction Owners Association of Alberta. In Mikes’ advisory role he will provide guidance and market growth strategies to the Management Group of Xi Safety TM Inc.
